James Blake and Chance the Rapper Team Up for “Life Round Here” Remix and More

James Blake is revisiting this spring’s album Overgrown in an unexpected way. He’s recruited Chicago upstart Chance The Rapper for a remix of the album cut “Life Round Here”. It premiered on Zane Lowe’s show on BBC Radio 1; stream it above, via 1-800- Dinosaur.

Chance tells XXL that the two met at SXSW this year and “kept in touch and started working together on a couple of tracks, including some original material.” There’s also a second version of the “Life Round Here” remix lying around.

“I love his records,” Chance told XXL. “So to do another version of one of his songs that I felt was already completed was… you know… you don’t wanna fuck somebody’s shit up. I jumped on it and people seem to like it a lot. But I’m really excited for our other shit too.
