Reflektor Cover and Release Details
Arcade Fire Tube points out that various independent record stores have been posting about what appears to be the “Reflektor” 12″ single. Grimey’s, from Nashville, posted this image on Twitter with a note that it will be available 9/9 at 9 p.m. As Arcade Fire Tube points out, a mysterious map has appeared on thereflektors.com as well. While it’s unconfirmed, the map appears to indicate store locations where the 12″ will be sold. That’s the cover of the 12″, above.
According to Empire Records in St Albans, England, the 12″ tracklist lists 14 tracks. However, it’s actually a 45 single. Below, take a glimpse of what that tracklist allegedly is, and what the back cover allegedly looks like:
Reports have also now surfaced that Arcade Fire played a tiny, secret show at the Montreal salsa club Salsathèque on Wednesday, September 4, as Arcade Fire Tube points out. They debuted new, “dance-oriented” songs, according to a report from Montreal blog The Main, performing on a lit-up disco floor. Cell phones were allegedly banned, according to The Main.
The Main described the set:
The show was unexpectedly dance-oriented, due to the upbeat rhythms of conga drums and electronic flourishes alongside their most poppy sounds. Although the song lyrics shared the same themes as past releases, they traded their somber orchestral sound for something more contemporary…
The standout track featured various musical directions and sudden tempo changes, sandwiched between the boisterous repeated choruses of “Here comes the night”. Imagine the Talking Heads’ “Once in a Lifetime”, but if David Bowie had written it while on vacation.
