Janelle Monáe Reveals New Album’s Electric Lady Release Date and Tracklist

Janelle Monáe has revealed the artwork and tracklisting for her follow-up to 2010’s The ArchAndroid. The Electric Lady is out September 10 through Bad Boy/Wondaland/Atlantic. The cover art (on the left) is illustrated by Sam Spratt.

The album was co-produced by Monáe with Deep Cotton (Chuck Lightning and Nate Wonder) and Roman GianArthur, fellow members of the Wondaland Arts Society. Monáe, Lightning, and Wonder executive produced the album along with Sean “Diddy” Combs. Big Boi is credited as co-executive producer.
In addition to “Q.U.E.E.N.” with Erykah Badu, the album features previously announced collaborations with Miguel (“PrimeTime”) and Prince (“Givin Em What They Love”). It also features collaborations from Solange, Big Boi, Cee-Lo Green, and Esperanza Spaulding.

A two-disc deluxe edition of the record with four bonus tracks and an alternate cover will be available only at Target… check out that cover below as well.

According to the myth, the painting is titled “Cindi Mayweather and Her Sisters Cast a Spell Over the Good City of Metropolis” and was painted “in the autumn of 2717.”
